In Pattaya 5 days now. Here is what I want to say, not impressed. Some of you may feel a little bit disappointed once you got here. If not for business, I would leave here already. As my Thai friend told me, Pattay is more for European and US tourists, especially for guys who came alone. Talking to many Foreigners from US and EU, they are disappointed too since they have hard time to find normal girls.
With all that said, Pattaya is still strange place to see, still so many girls want to make money along the beach and "walking street"(街名). You still have to be careful when you are here. Last night, several girls are busted by police when they are negoiating the prices with their customers along the beach.
Here are some advices and information.
For girls, if any white guys try to talk to you, most likely they thought you are one of Thai girls and want to make money, so do NOT sit or stand alone by the beach. I would not suggest that you travel alone unless you want guys.
For guys, be careful not to get into trouble while travel. pretty girls are rare in Pattaya,有數量,沒質量. Some tall and pretty girls on the street might be lady boys, and ask "her" identity if you want her to go with you to avoid any surprise unless that is what you want. Pay more attention to "her" throat and hands according to the local Thai. The average price for lady is about 500Baht for short term and 1000 for long term(overnight stay etc), higher for the nicer ones.
For money exchange, dont exchange too many Baht while at Airport, and exchange the necessary to get you around, 人民幣對泰珠z只有3.83, much lower than outside. The best rate I got is 4.5. Dollar is stronger, if you have, bring them with you. If you have 銀聯卡,you can probably get 4.6 or 4.7 through ATM machine.
Others, beach is so so, 10 meters off the road, you can hit the water, not like the sand beaches in Florida, Hawaii, Carribean and Bahamas. Water is ok but could be better.
