travel to Sanya by yourselfThis JanuaryI took a tour to Sanya with my friend Billy.Before traveling there, I did a lot workon net to investigate that place including maps, hotels, foods, specialities,resturants,buses, transportations, bikes , equipments, climates and whatever i can think of.I found that there were a lot information on net to introduce the information u want, but all these scattered in different web sites. I must look up one by one among the major websites to gether allthe important information I need. I also found out that there are a lot more information described in details for tourist in Chinese version websites. In English version websites, they only supply simple anda few choices for tourist.
Anyway, I must feel lucky to live in this mordern time. I can acquire what i want without going there.Now I want to share what i experienced from Sanya tour for English readers who can get less service from the web and the tour.
Sanya is a place we can go there by our own. we dontneed to be there through travel agency.I will supply some websites address below for readers to check by yourselves.If u can read Chinese , it will be much more helpful. If u cant,my article will be a great help to u for sure. I think before u tour some places, it is important and benefit for u to read some articles written by the tourists.In these articles, they will introduce what they feel good or bad when they toured there. Such we can avoid to repeat their mistakes.
first, pick up a hotel.
In Sanya, the best seashore is in Yalong Bay.So we decide to live in Yalong Bay.As we can enjoy the most beautiful site at the most.In Yalong Bay, there are several five stars, four stars, three stars hotels. The three stars hotel has 200 meters away from the seashore. So I give it up. The five stars hotel own the seashore themselves. The hardware is good. Of course the expense is also high. Then I check on net. Some tourists said that the service in one ofthe five stars hotel the Resort Horizon is bad and the cost of another five star hotel the Gloria Hotel is the highest.Some recommend the four star hotel the Resort Golden Palm. They think the service there is good though its hard ware is not as good as the five stars. Then I want to find out what is not good enough in hard ware. Finally I find that the most defect point in this hotel is that there is a road before this hotel. If u wanna go to the seashore, u must go through the road and come to the seashore.As the service there is good,the cost is cheaper than five stars, and i dont care to go through a road to the seashore, I select this hotel. The result proved to be my decision is 100% right. The service there is as five star hotels. It is convenient to go to the seashore to swim. The cost there is cheaper than that of five stars.
Second, select a room
there are several kinds of rooms available in each hotel. As we tour there for the sea, it is better to book a room to view the sea. Some room can only see a little of the sea. some room can view the sea face to face. If your have enough money, I suggest u to book a room face to face to the sea. The feeling is different. I booked a luxury sea room. It is deserving to do so to get the high quality of our tour. Each hotel offer some good bargin for tourist. When we went there, we booked a suit offer for honeymoon lover. It is more cheaper than u booked the room by days.So ask the hotel about such offer. I check it up on net.
Third, call the hotel yourself or book it on net.
I called that hotel myself. In a tourist article, he introduced a guy who worksin that hotel. He thinks that guy is helphul and kind. He published his mb no. on net. So I tried to make a call to that guy. From my experience, that guy do gives me a good offer and considerable for customer. His name is Wu Cai Sheng. He works in the reception desk. His mb no. is 13016287827. His office no. is 0898-88569988(0898 is district no.)
Fourth,about the tour sites
There are several tour sites in Sanya. But we dont have enough time to tour them all. The major point is to view and enjoy the seashore and try the fresh seafood. So I pick up some places according to other tourists article. Wu Zhi Zhou island.It is a small island beside sanya,very beautiful indeed. But the seashore is not suited to swim. there are many little stones and shells in the sand which makes your feet pain.If u want to diving, u can see the colorful coral there. Better u go there in the morning and dive in the noon time when the sun is shining the most. Then the bottom of the sea is clear. Compare with the price 280rmb for ship dive and 237rmb for seadive, the ship diving is more deserving. Though it is said the diving time is one hour, according to my experience, only 20 minutes at most I think. I feel my ear very pain during the diving. Anyway I have experienced once of diving and see different color of coral. But I didnt see any hot climate fishes at all. We went there the last day. it is a regret. There is no shower room there. So i had no where to wash myself clean. The cost of ship is 100. If u give 10 yuan to the restanrant on that island, u can have a lunch there. The view is also good when u are on the ship to and from that island.
There is also a good site called Nan mountain Temple. U can take a little bus to drive to the top of the mountain. It is also a good site on the top of the mountain. We boughtgrass hats there for the sunshine(15rmb). But Billys hat was blown away by the wind.
Fifth, about transportation.
The taxi there is cheap.I think it is good to hire the taxi all day for yourself. The cost is 150rmb per day. Some drivers ask for high price and take u to expensive restraunants.So better to hire a reliable driver.I also find two drivers in two articles written by two tourists.I write down their mb no.When i arrived there, i called one of them.I found the driver is really good and honest. When I ask him how much he charged for whole day, he said 200rmb.He doesnt want to cheat me as 300rmb. So I feel he is honest. If we dont hire his taxi for a whole day, for example, we only need him to drive us out for dinnerand take us back, 70rmb.His name is Wang Yu Zhang. His mb. is 13807528371. He also can be a tour guide for u during your tour and gives u some good suggestions. When i mentioned to him about that cheap seafood restuarnts, he took us to there each day. hehehehe..without him, I cant find that place for sure.
He is not a local people in sanya. He is from North China. A good person indeed.He has a brother in law who is also a driver. His name is Ji Zhan Guo.This taxi is a little big for 12 persons. His mb no. is 13807500257. He had drived for us to dinner once instead of Mr. wang.
Sixth, about food.
There is restarants everywhere of seafood. But it is expensive in tour sites. So better have dinner in the downtown. Billy has a good idea. Each day, we get up late.He gets up late. I get up and swim in the sea for a while. then we go to the breakfast in the hotel(it is free). After breakfast, the time is 9:30 or 10am.Then we tour outside. Can u see the key point? We dont need to have lunch outside. We have some fruits while tour outside, for example coconut, 2rmb each. When I bought the coconut, i cost 3 yuan for the first time.Then the drive will tell u about the right price. So I think he is helpful. We go to the downtown each night for dinner. Around 5:30pm we take on the taxi and go out. Mr Wang drived us to the place we want. I look up in each articles about the food. some suggest the cheapest place is on a road near Jing Wei hotel. So I told driver Wang we wanted to go to that place for dinner. Finnally we find that we got a bargain. Each dinner, we can eat as much as we can of seafood, but the cost of per person is no more than 35 rmb.So we stayed there 4 days and 3 nights, we have all 3 dinners there. Mr. Wang will take u to there if u ask for it. I also write down the boss of that restarant:Mrs Chen, her tel no. is 88290457. her mb is 88159876. But her english is not good enough i am afraid. I also know another resturant which is fair in price than other resturants. The boss is Mr. Huang. His mb. is 13807519656. As we found the cheapest place, we didnt go Mr. Huangs.Driver Wang and Mr. Huang are blamed by the local officer for their honest in price. :((- Some tourists have published the right price on net after they know the reality from them.I dont know what will happen to them after I published such information agian on net.
Finally, about specailities.
The fruit there is rich. I bought some hot climate fruit each day from the first market. It is cheaper. But better dont take a foreigner with u. Otherwise they will ask for a high price. I also bought some dry seafood when i left the last day. U see the taxi is convenient for u to do anything. :))I dont purchase the yellow peper from the shops. The restarant boss Mr. Wang produced good yellow peper herself. So i bought some from her. If u like hot food, this is the first good food to buy some back.
In a word, i write this article to help those whose language is not Chinese.If we tour through travel agency, they will take us to where we dont want to go for shopping and spend our treasure time. I wish all of us can enjoy tour by ourselves just as we did.
At last, i forget to mention about the flight tickets.
I look up from the newspaper adv.s and called them to check the price.I ordered the lowest price and who can send tickets to my hands for free. Do u think it is easy? hehehe.
In a word, though we have money, we must spend it at the most and enjoy what it brings to us.
