I went to Xi An for 4 days during my National holidays. It’s really a nice trip for me to recall in the future.October 1st, the National Day, it was turn to visit terracotta warriors and horses of the Qin Shihuang’s tomb. I got up early in the morning, excitedly, as I was waiting a long time for this day, it was also the main reason attracted me there in Xi An, the big city which display the brilliant civilization of the ancient China.

Though it was a rainy day, all the persons remained the high mood. Finally, we arrived at the great place after 2 hours journey by car. It locates in north west of Xi An city. I was told that in 1974, while digging a well, the villagers of Xi Yang village discovered the terra-cotta figures in Qin Shihuang’s tomb. After further excavation, four pits of figures were subsequently discovered by now among which only three are open to the public. In pit No.1, there’s a column of six thousand terracotta soldiers and forty chariots. In Pit No.2, four units of arrow shooters, horsemen and infantry. Pit No.3 is the smallest one, only 520 m2 and it should be the headquarters of the three pits of Qin army. Totally, there are over 8,000 figures in the pits, they fully and figuratively demonstrating the military supplies, arrangement and tactic characteristics of the Qin army over 2,000 years ago. There has not been any record of those figures in the history, but the farmers dug up this wonder with one stroke of hole, shaking all over the world immediately.

I was immersed in the historical place, surprised by all the things there especially the 2 bronze chariots which equipped with flybells and decorated with tassels, grand and elegant. No wonder while visiting the figures, the Prime Minister of France said in excitement: There have been seven wonders discovered in the world history and the Terracotta Army should be the eighth. You may not say to have been to Egypt until you see the pyramids, nor may you say to have been to China until you see the Terracotta Army!

If you have not been to Xi An yet, I suggest you make Xi An city your next travel station. Trust me, it really worth you paying a visit there!
